The Reverend Megan Snell - United Church of Christ
Rev. Megan Snell is an ordained pastor in the United Church of Christ. She has served at several Boston Metro area churches. A lifelong member of the UCC, Rev. Megan has experienced the depth and breadth of theological and cultural diversity in our denomination. She welcomes all people to worship and believes in the inherent worth and dignity of all. Rev. Megan is affirming of people of all faiths and no faith and believes that journeying together in spirituality and service is an important part of seeking a deepend faith life. Rev. Megan believes in a liberating Jesus Christ, who beckons us all into bold lives of resistance and resurrection. She believes in a Holy Spirit that animates God’s church in the world. Her mission is to empower lay people to become theologians in their own lives, making meaning of their own stories and deepening their faith in God and service in the world.
In the wider church, Rev. Megan serves as a Board Member of the United Church of Christ Mental Health Network. She also writes for the MHN Blog and other national publications. Rev. Megan also serves as co-moderator of the UCC 2030 Clergy Network, a network of several hundred UCC Clergy nationally, who share resources, collaborate, and provide collegial support for one another.
Rev. Megan went to seminary at Andover Newton Theological School, where she earned a Masters of Divinity degree. She also completed chaplaincy training through Clinical Pastoral Education units at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania and Hebrew Senior Life. Rev. Megan is presently enrolled in the Doctor of Ministry program at Pacific School of Religion. She studies the intersections of mental health/illness and church communities. She anticipates defending her dissertation January 2021.
Rev. Megan and her wife CPT Nicole Battaglia (US ARNG) share their home with three rescue dogs. Rev. Megan enjoys hiking, traveling, live music, audio books, and complex strategy board games.
